About Basic Concepts

What is Basic Concepts?

Basic Concepts is built on one simple idea: most things aren’t that complicated, until we make them. This space is for people who want to move smarter, not necessarily louder, or political. You’ll find principles, tools, and stories to help you navigate work and life with clarity. Not motivational fluff. Just useful signal.

I will not give you 10 hacks or 5 secrets. I’m here to help you see what you already sense, but maybe haven’t found the words for yet. What I do is just write my posts, for you to check out and see if there’s any value for you, or if you can relate.

Who am I?

My name is Eric Woerdeman. I’ve led teams, worked across corporate systems, burned out, moved to Portugal, and started again. These days, I write, reflect, and help others move through their own transitions with a bit more calm and awareness. I’m not a guru. I’m just someone who’s been there and decided to share what I’ve learned, clearly and without the drama.

Who is this for?

If you’re a young professional trying to make sense of workplace dynamics, or if you’re a thoughtful manager tired of political games, if you’re looking for clarity without the noise…

…then Basic Concepts is for you.

I work best with people who don’t need to be told what to think just shown a better way to see and possibly operate.

Want to work together? I offer two types of sessions:

  • The Quiet Mirror — a 1:1 clarity session. You bring the situation, I bring the questions. Together we clear the noise.
  • Signals & Structures — a group format where we unpack real-life dynamics, patterns, and decisions with others.

No funnel. No hard sell. Just a chance to talk and see if it helps.
